Cara Reilly joined Holt in 2025 and edits literary fiction—particularly with an irresistible voice and pitch, a sharp sense of humor, an unputdownable pace, and unforgettable characters—as well as select narrative nonfiction that illuminates a sociopolitical issue through individual stories. In her prior role at Doubleday, her list included books by Meg Howrey, Andrew Boryga, Katherine Rundell, Shefali Luthra, Aisha Abdel Gawad, Charlotte Runcie, Priya Guns, Ingrid Rojas Contreras, Eley Williams, and more. Authors she has worked with have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, Kirkus Prize, NBCC Award, Lambda Literary Award, and Carol Shields Prize.
